The Kohlererbahn is a century-old cable car system, originally the first modern aerial tramway for passenger transport, though much of its heritage had faded due to inconsistent renovations over the years.
Collaborating with an architect on the station’s renovation, we aimed to unearth, restore, and celebrate this piece of history by diving into archives, developing a cohesive visual identity including a wayfinding system, and website while emphasizing the site's South Tyrolean heritage within the region’s multilingual communities, and the importance of sustainable tourism.
